The Break-up – 98 words

“If I can’t have you no-one will.” His words echoed in her head, as the mantle of darkness that had fallen like a curtain over her consciousness lifted, to be replaced by the dull, metronomic throb of the wound above her left ear.

The faint odour of a dog long departed emanated from the luxurious rug that tickled at her nose where her face pressed against it.

His calm, proclamation had intimidated her, left her paralysed with fear as she watched the blow fall that sent her spinning to oblivion.

Gagged, bound and helpless, she awaited her doom.
